The state of Arizona requires anyone who applies pesticide as a part of their job to be certified.

The Structural Pest Control Commission of Arizona regulates the commercial pest control industry and the use of structural pesticides. The Commission provides for the certification of applicators in nine (9) specific categories of pest control.

These categories are as follows:

  • Aquatics – B9
  • Turf and Ornamentals – B5
  • Fumigation – B4
  • Wood Destroying Organisms – B2
  • General Pests – B1
  • Wood Destroying Treatment – B8
  • Public Health – B1
  • Fungi Inspection – B7
  • Right Of Way/Weeds – B3

All certifications expire each year on May 31. In order to maintain a valid certification an applicator is required to obtain at least six (6) hours of continuing education every year. The six hours must include at least one hour of credit for each category for which the applicator is certified in.

-If an applicator is certified in less than 6 categories he or she must still obtain a minimum of six continuing education credits each year.

-If an applicator in certified in more than 6 categories he or she needs only a minimum of six continuing education credits each year.

The following courses and appropriate continuing education points have been approved by the Arizona Office of Pest Management for ALL categories.

Each CEU is $15.00.
